Gifting Gifts

I believe each of us have unique abilities that help us serve others.

These gifts, laid down through genetics and individual life paths are composed, in part, by wisdom, leadership, giving, energy and healing.

We can try and ignore talents, we can walk away from natural abilities, we can bury desires.... but they never actually GO away. For example, the woman who rode with passion as a girl...gave up riding for sports/family/marriage and dreams of returning to it, years later. Those passions and gifts that get "shelved" show up, no matter how we try to ignore them. We can distract ourselves with repetitive jobs, fancy cars, clothes or cosmetics. We can wander off our paths, losing sight of where we came from or where we are going. But at the end of the day, that pull will not disappear.

Since before I can remember, I KNEW I wanted to be a horse trainer and riding coach. I grew up obsessively playing with Breyer horses when I was not playing with my ponies. I doodled horse barn designs, drew out jump courses and dressage tests all over homework pages. Any time I was able, I delved into horse books, horse activities, horse games ....ANYTHING horse. I graduated high school in 1984, during a time when being a professional in the Equine Industry was not "a thing", especially as a woman. I fought tooth and nail to hang on to my early dream. But push from external forces had me away from it in early adult life. I graduated college and TRIED to live the life I thought I was expected to live. A 9-5 office job, an engagement and marriage that happened in a literal flash....all distractions. I found myself quiting the job, and starting a boarding and training business in 1991. The business became my life and the marriage ended. And here, I found myself back at "home base".

To this day, I am a horse trainer and riding coach. I have wandered, but never again lost my sight of my gift.  I LOVE teaching, I LOVE sharing what I know about the unique relationship between horses and humans. I LOVE gifting my gifts.

What gifts are you gifting?

With gratitude, Christina
